About me | Ko wai au
Vicki Morrison-Shaw
Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Pākehā | BCom LLB

I obtain consents for people and organisations to establish new businesses, carryout new activities, and to have their say on developments or activities that may affect them. I assist people to understand the implications that resource management plans and policies may have on their interests and I advocate for them and represent their interests throughout any hearing processes. My focus is on delivering sustainable outcomes in a cost effective timely manner.
I have a broad range of experience in a variety of different roles including as a director of a boutique law firm, in-house counsel for a land development company, a development manager for an iwi consultancy firm, and a research and policy officer for a local government organisation. This diversified experience has enabled me to provide practical, bespoke, timely and cost effective advice and legal services to clients.
My areas of practice span environmental, local government, resource management, public and Māori law issues. I have appeared as counsel in mediations and hearings before Councils, the Environmental Protection Authority, Māori Land Court, Environment Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
I am an accredited RMA (Making Good Decisions) Commissioner and have been a member of hearing panels involving fast track consents, resource consents and district plan changes.
I am continuing to deepen my understanding of Te Reo Māori through wānanga and home based learning.
